End Grain Cutting Board
End-grain cutting boards are made by arranging small blocks of wood so the ends of the wood fibers face upward. This construction allows knife blades to slide between the fibers instead of cutting across them, which helps reduce wear on knives and minimizes visible cut marks on the board. Because the wood fibers naturally close back together after use, end-grain boards are often described as “self-healing.” The result is a durable cutting surface that holds up well to regular food preparation while also highlighting the natural beauty of the wood.
